As one door opens another one closes. Such is the case as another Kiwanis administrative year comes to an end. President Jay Steinmetz is now IPP Jay after leading the club through an extraordinary year. We appreciate all of his efforts and that of the rest of his administration which included Dr. Steve Perrick as 2nd VP, Mitchell Allan as Treasurer, Liz Fries as Secretary and our new President for 2005-2006 Dr. Alan Alterman. The meeting held on September 20th was a recognition night where the administration and in particular IPP Jay were thanked for their tireless efforts to help our club excel. IPP Jay also went out of his way to thank many members for outstanding service. On inscribed plaques which were distributed as awards, Jay individually wrote personal sentiments thanking many members for a job well done. Jay obviously took a great deal of his time to personally consider each person’s contribution. This thoughtfulness was very much appreciated by all.
Now, the torch passes to President Alan. Our appreciation turns into celebration as the club is thankful to be able to follow Jay’s hugely successful year with what is sure to be continuing leadership excellence. Alan brings a vast array of new ideas and a steadfast ability to implement. His management skills and unquestionable dedication to EM Kiwanis can only make our club even better. In his first official duty he professionally chaired his first Board of Director meeting late into the evening on September 28th. Now he moves to the great task of leading this club to new heights.
